Adding services

Services define what guests can book, how long each appointment takes, what it costs, and whether it appears on your online booking page.

Only services that are both active and online bookable appear on your public booking page. These are two separate switches: a service can be active without guests ever seeing it.

Add a new service

  1. In the dashboard, open Services.
  2. Click New service. (If your catalogue is still empty, From Templates creates a base catalogue in one step.)
  3. Enter the service name and its duration in minutes.
  4. Choose a pricing type and enter the price.
  5. Optionally add a short description and a category.
  6. Set Buffer time if you need cleanup or preparation time before or after the appointment.
  7. Decide whether Visible on the online booking page should be on.
  8. Save the service.

Pricing types

TypeWhat guests seeWhen to use it
FixedAn exact price.Most services.
FromA price starting "from …".When the price depends on hair length, effort, and so on.
CustomPrice agreed directly with the guest.Bespoke work where no price can be quoted upfront.
Free serviceZero price.Consultations, trial sessions.
WarningCustom pricing and percentage deposits are incompatible: a percentage can only be calculated from a fixed price. If you have such a service, switch to a fixed deposit amount in Booking rules, or give the service a fixed price.

Where can it be performed?

You can set the place of delivery per service: In-shop or on-site, In-shop only, or On-site only.

Translations

Your booking page is available in several languages. In the Translations section of the service form you can enter the name and description in other languages, so guests see the service in their own language. Without a translation, the original text is shown in every language.

Categories, order and visibility

  • Services can be grouped into categories; the booking page groups them by category.
  • Use Change order to control the order guests see them in.
  • Turning off Visible on the online booking page marks the service Internal: you can still create manual bookings for it, but guests never see it.

Edit, activate, deactivate or delete

  1. Click a service row to edit it.
  2. Use the switch to activate or deactivate the service. You can also activate or deactivate all of them at once.
  3. Use the action menu if you want to delete it.
WarningThe number of active services depends on your plan: up to 15 on Starter and up to 30 on Pro. Deactivated services do not count towards the limit.
