Setting buffer time between bookings

If you need preparation or cleanup time between appointments, you can set a buffer before or after each service — the system blocks this time automatically in the calendar.

Buffer time is the extra time blocked before or after a service — for example for preparation, cleanup, or travel. Buffers are configured per service and apply automatically to every booking of that service.

Setting up buffer time

  1. Open Settings > Services.
  2. Click the service you want to add buffer time to.
  3. In the edit form, set Buffer before and/or Buffer after (0–120 minutes, in 5-minute steps).
  4. Save.

How it works

The system adds buffer time to the total blocked duration in the calendar. For example, if a service is 60 minutes long and you set a 15-minute buffer after it, the system blocks 75 minutes in total. The next booking can only start after that full window.

InfoBuffer time is not visible to guests — the booking page shows only the actual service duration. The buffer only affects the internal calendar and conflict checking.

Common use cases

  • Cleanup or preparation — e.g. washing tools after a treatment.
  • Travel between locations — if you work across multiple sites.
  • Equipment cooling or warm-up time — e.g. devices that need time between uses.
  • Documentation — if you need time to write notes after each appointment.

Existing bookings are not affected

WarningBuffer time changes only apply to new bookings. Existing bookings were created with the buffer that was active at the time — they are not updated retroactively.
