Deleting your account and exporting data

If you want to permanently delete your Bokko account, this article explains the current deletion request flow, blockers and export process.

Bokko handles account deletion through a deletion-request workflow. You can request deletion from the account area, and the system then checks whether the request can move forward immediately or must stay blocked until the open issues are resolved.

How deletion works now

  • 1. Submit the request: In the dashboard, open Settings → Account and click Delete account in the Danger zone.
  • 2. Confirmation: A separate confirmation dialog appears, and Bokko may ask for a code from your authenticator app (TOTP).
  • 3. Pre-check: Bokko checks whether the account is ready for deletion (see the blockers below).
  • 4. If the account is clean: The request is auto-approved with a 30-day export window, and you receive an email notification.
  • 5. If blockers exist: The request stays in a pending state until the blocking issues are resolved; the system rechecks automatically.
  • 6. Final execution: Permanent deletion happens only after the request reaches the approved stage and the export window ends.
InfoFor security, deletion requests are only accepted from verified-email accounts, and an abuse-prevention rate limit applies (at most 3 attempts per 15 minutes).

Export your data

  1. In the dashboard, open Settings → Privacy.
  2. Click Export data.
  3. Bokko prepares a JSON export of your bookings and guest records.
  4. We email a signed download link to the address linked to your account.

The signed download link is valid for roughly 4 hours, after which the file is removed from storage. Data exports are also rate-limited (only a few requests per week).

Blocking conditions

  • Active bookings: Pending, confirmed or in-progress bookings still exist.
  • Active subscription: The subscription status is still active (past-due alone does not block).
  • Export in progress: A fresh data export is already running for this account.
  • Active non-owner members: Manager, Receptionist or Provider members are still attached to the business.
  • Open dispute: A payment dispute is still open.
  • Open incident or retention hold: A legal or operational hold is still active.
InfoThe request does not delete the account immediately. Bokko stores a deletion-request status and continues the process only when the current conditions allow it.
WarningPermanent deletion is irreversible. Export anything you still need before the approved export window ends.
