Connecting OTP SimplePay payments

How to connect OTP SimplePay in Bokko with your MerchantId and SecretKey, what Bokko validates during setup, and why the first real checkout matters.

You can connect OTP SimplePay from the Integrations page. Bokko stores your MerchantId and SecretKey as a payment connection, then lets you activate that connection for SimplePay-based checkout flows.

What you need before you start

  • You need access to the Integrations page as the salon owner.
  • You need your SimplePay MerchantId.
  • You need your SimplePay SecretKey.

Bokko validates the MerchantId format during setup. It must contain uppercase letters and numbers only, and it must be at least 10 characters long.

Connect OTP SimplePay

  1. Open Integrations in the dashboard.
  2. Find the OTP SimplePay card and click Connect OTP SimplePay.
  3. Enter the MerchantId.
  4. Enter the SecretKey.
  5. Click Connect OTP SimplePay to save the connection.
WarningIf the MerchantId format is invalid, Bokko blocks the submission. Bokko also does not allow an empty SecretKey.

What Bokko validates during setup

Unlike some other providers, SimplePay has no live ping endpoint that Bokko can use during setup. Because of that, Bokko only validates the input format during connection creation and stores the credentials for later use.

The first real checkout is the live verification point. If the credentials are wrong, the connection can later transition to an invalid-credentials state.

What you see after setup

A new SimplePay connection starts in a pending-credentials state until you activate it. After activation, Bokko can show it as ready for use, while also warning you if the credentials have not yet been confirmed by a successful real checkout.

  • The card can show one active SimplePay connection, additional pending ones, and a short archived list.
  • A ready-for-use connection may still show a warning until the first successful checkout happens.
  • If the first real checkout fails because of credential problems, Bokko can mark the connection as invalid.

Capabilities after activation

After activation, Bokko can enable redirect-based checkout and refund-related capabilities on the SimplePay connection. Card-on-file and off-session charging do not become available on the SimplePay path.
